The basic frontside off the lip is every rider's introduction to riding a wave with a kite. A good top turn involves a lot of timing between your kite, your board position, and the wave and it can take some time to pull it all together.
The next installment of LivingTheDream's documentation of Patrick Rebstock's travels around Indonesia. It was a pretty special journey to trek to some of these spots and we got really lucky with the conditions.
Kiteboarding at Peahi, Maui (otherwise known as Jaws) on January 4th, 2012. This was the biggest swell so far of the season and the day started off with paddle in surfing, then tow surfing, then windsurfing, and in the late afternoon, kitesurfing.
“We had insane conditions on tour this year,” said KSP rider and Vice President Sky Solbach. “ We scored the most perfect surf ever seen in competition in Mauritius and the longest waves on the planet in Peru. Unfortunately Mother Nature did not cooperate in Cape Verde, but we still had a blast in the Super Sessions here.”
