PKRA announced this week that the dates for both 2013 events in China have been modified and, unfortunately, the Slalom event has been canceled in Hainan. Prize money for the Pingtan event has been increased to $80,000. The PKRA stop in New Caledonia has been  canceled. 

Pingtan Kieboarding World Cup: October 21-27, 2013

Pingtan Island is the windiest, most consistent kiteboarding location in China, and it is rapidly becoming a popular destination. The PKRA Pingtan Kiteboarding World Cup will make kiteboarding history this year with the biggest prize money event in the history of the sport. $80,000 USD will be divided into the 3 official disciplines $55,000 for freestyle, $20,000 for Slalom and $5,000 for Long distance. With a lot at stake in Pingtan, competition will be fierce.

Hainan International Kitesurf Festival will be November 1-6, 2013

The dates of the Hainan event have been moved closer to the Pingtan event to make travel easier for everyone involved. The Slalom World Cup event has been canceled.  This means the last slalom stop of the year will be in Argentina.  The focus in Hainan will be on freestyle.
