Here’s a really great little story about how you never know if something’s really lost or not!

My name is Zach Wilson and I wanted to share a cool Lost/Found GoPro story with you guys!  So I lost my GoPro in Hatteras, NC on a kiteboarding trip (I’m from Western Canada) last spring in the Atlantic ocean while SUPing on a glassy evening (due to lack of wind).

That particular evening was one of the best SUP sessions I have ever had with perfect waves, temps, sunset, and pods of dolphins everywhere!  So to lose these photos I was choked to say the least.

Today REAL Watersports posted up this photo!

An awesome guy named Rick Spink stumbled on the cam and posted some photos to help find the owner! 10 months, A massive hurricane, and some super heavy surf days later and it turns up on shore 15 miles south of where it was lost.

I couldn’t be more stoked!! Huge thanks to Two Brothers Films for replacing the gear I lose and break, Rick, REAL Watersports, and especially GoPro for building these awesome little beasts!

REAL Watersports original FB shout out:  Can you help identify this guy? A nice guy named Rick Spink found a GoPro washed up on the beach in Avon, NC and contacted us for help.  The camera is fried but the SD card has loads of good pictures on it. He was riding a Surftech SUP Laird Pearson Arrow with a REAL sticker on it…..?! Its an awesome picture – please help us return it to its owner. – Pete.

Here’s what Rick had to say about it:  I tossed the waterproof case before i realized what i had – it was used up from being in the water for ten months. Tried to charge the gopro but smelled bad electric, but the SD card loaded right up. The pic was the best but lots of other good ones …. and then several hundred of the sandy bottom:-)

The photo of my legs is moments after it was lost and we set off frantically searching for it!  Rick has since tossed the cam in the mail back to me; can’t wait to see the rest of the photos!
