After wrapping up our first TKB Test Week here in La Ventana, I found myself with a lay day before the start of the La Ventana Classic and KiteXpo. Sure, I could have stayed here and be productive by catching up on emails, but why do that when you can head to the coast?
Brian Friedmann and I jumped into the truck and joined the caravan leaving Baja Joe’s in the morning lead by Mark from Elevation Kiteboarding. Today was the strapless clinic for the La Ventana Classic and this would be the first time in three years that the strapless clinic would be able to head to the coast.
The surf was small and the wind wasn’t especially strong, but we were all able to get out on 9-12m kites and have a little fun on the Pacific side of the Baja peninsula. Surprisingly, the water is a little warmer here than on the east coast in La Ventana.
