Varanger Arctic Kite Enduro 2017

Apply for VAKE 2017 – Wissa Long Distance Kiting World Championship

In 2017, VAKE is arranged for the 9th time and is Wissa-approved Long Distance Kiting World Championship. Varanger Arctic Kite Enduro is an annual expedition snow kite competition on the Varanger Peninsula in Northern Norway. It starts in BerlevÃ¥g, ends in Vardø and lasts for four days. 

To be accepted for VAKE it’s necessary to have broad experience in snow kiting and be able to kite with sled in varied and rough terrain and wind. Participants must be able to stay out in the cold, have experience and knowledge of winter touring equipment and know how to pitch a tent in bad weather. Knowledge of map-, compass- and GPS navigation is also required. 

Application for VAKE 2017 opens October 15 on www.vake.no. We allow 45 teams of two to start.
