Sherman Island 1st area cleanup

The Delta Conservancy will hold its first Delta waterway cleanup April 13 and it needs volunteers.

The cleanup will take place at: Sherman Island

DIRECTIONS: SEE MAP Meet at “The Sign” just south of Rio Viento RV Park on West Sherman Island Road. Take left fork immediately s/w of RV park

At Sherman Island, volunteers will join the Rio Vista Surfers Association, Sherman Island Kite Boarding, California Striped Bass Association and Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed. The cleanup will cover a 1.5-mile stretch with four access points. Volunteers will do a cleanup on the water side and land side of the levee road, the land side being more accessible to young children and those wanting a more leisurely cleanup. Volunteer traffic controllers are also needed.
