Join the Tampa Bay kiteboarding community for a downwind race to support Tampa Bay Watch on October 1st-3rd, 2021.
Elite Watersports’ major fundraising event and season opener is just around the corner! Are you ready for a 7-mile downwind regatta that helps raise funds for Tampa Bay Watch? Tampa Bay Watch is a not-for-profit organization that helps keep the waters and marine life of the Tampa Bay estuary safe and clean. The Tampa Bay estuary is one of the most diverse and productive ecosystems in the world, but after the Piney Point spill and the horrible red tide this past summer, Tampa Bay Watch needs help, now more than ever, getting the water back to where it was.
As a fundraiser for Tampa Bay Watch, this year, the Elite Watersports will host Tampa Kite Invasion on October 1st through the 3rd with a 7-mile downwind regatta starting at Lassing Park and ending on the east side of the Skyway Bridge. Friday night kicks off the season opener with a gathering at the Elite Watersports store front, the race will be held either Saturday or Sunday based on wind, and the downwinder will be followed up with a silent auction and awards, with the race winner receiving a prize from the presenting sponsor: CORE Kiteboarding.
