SLINGSHOT Says:

The Alien Air returns to Slingshot’s lineup as a proven board for all-around performance and user-friendly foiling progression. Featuring a robust concave deck, scooped nose, wide body and movable track mounting system, the Alien Air is a board that will get you up, foiling and having a blast. A wide body provides stability and a large surface area to move about as you please, while an aggressively scooped nose makes a dramatic difference in recovering rather than crashing when you nose-dive. As with all boards in our foil lineup, the Alien Air features bomber Slingshot construction and was designed by legendary shaper Tony Logosz.

Tkb Says:

The Alien Air is a classic foilboard design that hits all the user-friendly progressive notes that help make foilboarding accesible to a broader audience. The stubby template delivers a solid amount of volume in a relatively compact shape that on one hand helps you with your waterstart and progression into liftoff but also makes the board compact and easy to maneuver both in and out of the water. The rear of the board is relatively flat to help generate sufficient speed to trigger the wings lift even in underpowered conditions, while the nose incorporates substantial rocker that helps recover from an accidental touchdown. The Alien Air comes with a substantial number of strap insert options with four forward/aft options for the front foot in both a centered or ducked stance with the back foot getting four options as well to dial in perfect foot placement.

The concave deck is ideal for giving your feet a solid platform to deliver precise inputs to the wing and the deck pad is soft but thin enough to facilitate the board control and feedback. The construction on the Alien Air is solid and feels like it can withstand some serious newbie abuse and the tracks add the versatility of starting with the mast back and working forward as you start to get your pitch control dialed (starting foilboarders should error on the side of placing their weight too far forward) and also help you find your ideal riding position down the line. Overall, the Alien Air is a winning combo for the entry-level foiler and will take you comfortably through the more advanced stages of freeride foilboarding.
