Core Says:

The Choice 2 builds upon its predecessor’s strength by extending the CNC milled Paulownia wood core closer to the edges to reduce weight and increase reflexivity. Revised channels and Vario Rails give you the grip and control you need with or without fins. Its moderate freestyle rocker will get you out of trouble on those not so perfect landings. Core’s proprietary 30° biaxial carbon fiber weave further optimizes board torsion and dynamic longitudinal flex. For more pop, silly grins, boots or straps, finned or finless — there really is no other Choice.

Our Testers Say:

“Well-built board, feels fast, does what you want it to do, loads and pops well but could be a little stiff for some general freerider’s knees; tracks well for a very predictable ride.” // Tom Turley

“Nice weight board, pads are super comfortable, excellent load and pop but compared to the Fusion this board has a much stiffer flex pattern and you will feel the chop more.” // Davey Beard

“Like a Porsche turbo, does some things well (edging/upwind/pop) but can be bumpy in the chop.” // Ivano Stellato

Meet Our Testers

Tkb Says:

The Choice is Core’s performance freestyle board with all the tech features you want in a performance freeride twin tip. The Choice offers three stance width options and a ton of options to adjust the duck built into the pad and 28mm G10 fins for grip. There’s also an extra bank of inserts toward the center of the board to give extra duck options. The Choice offers a really solid tracking feel with really solid edge control when the board is locked into an upwind angle. With a little stiffer flex pattern than the Fusion, the Choice delivers in the powered load and pop scenarios for solid liftoff for unsent freestyle. The overall feel of the board is lively, with a stiffer flex pattern for super fun load and pop. Testers commented on the board’s stiffness and chop handling which highlights this board’s strengths as a performance twin tip against the more user-friendly freeride characteristics of the Fusion.

The Choice came with the Union Pro 2 pad and strap combo. This strap system features dual Velcro strap adjustments to get the perfect fit over the top of your feet for comfort and control. We tested the large size of the pad which put our toe grip fairly far forward in the pad, but testers liked the rubber texture of the foot bed which delivered a comfy but grippy feeling.
