Liquid Force Says:

Not only does the NV have a new name moniker but also utilizes a complete new profile and airframe geometries. The most noticeable change is in the wingtip geometry. This drastic change has produced prolific improvements in kite input back to the rider, allowing the rider to focus on what is in front of them and not what is going on above them in the kite. The NV V8 utilizes a new bridle schematic that includes a V load transfer connection. This connection eliminates canopy distortion and creates a more stable bridge of bridle connection points supporting the LE.

The NV still retains its legendary stability, its easy to predict on/off feel and bombproof construction, while holding the position as one of the most versatile cross condition and riding style kites on the market. From pro freestyler, to wave seeker, or the weekend warrior, the NV will perform beyond expectations.

TKB Says:

Liquid Force has once again gone back to the drawing board with this platform to the end that they renamed this model from the “Envy” to the “NV.” The re-branded NV is a 3-strut medium aspect C-shaped kite with significantly swept back wingtips that Liquid Force markets as an all around freeride and freestyle machine that meets the needs of unhooked, big air freestyle and surf disciplines. All LF kites come with one of the quickest inflation systems, a large diameter inflation valve which requires a proprietary LF pump nozzle (the NV also has a standard 9mm valve if you lose the extra wide nozzle that comes with every kite and attaches to the standard pump hose). With three wingtip steering settings to dial in bar pressure and a three setting fixed front bridle to adjust the level of pivoting in the kite’s turning arc, the NV’s smaller diameter leading edge and new wingtips make it feel significantly lighter than its previous version, both in hand and in the air. This year’s NV got high praise from the testers for its precision steering, quick and nimble turning speed and impressive boosting. The kite delivers a pivot style turn and user-friendly relaunch from the center of the window with minor input pressure from one side of the bar. Testers also commented on the NV’s smooth and progressive power delivery through its sheeting throw and excellent hangtime. The NV continues to evolve as an agile, performance-oriented platform that mixes precision control and on demand power that makes it a super fun freestyle machine that riders recommended for big air freestyle, surf and freeriders looking for something with some punch.TKB-FREERIDE-2017-LF-BAR-2804The NV came with the all new Mission Control bar which is a ground up redesign with an entirely new roster of features while keeping the bar simple and lightweight. The Mission Control features an adjustable length bar (45/55cm), durable PU coated sheeting/throw line, no sliding stopper, and a single center-line safety depower with a low V, and a stainless steel depower cam cleat with Velcro to keep the depower control toggle from tangling. The Mission Control comes with a new quick release design that features a below the bar hand swivel/release shield integrated into a push away quick release that more often than not clicks into an auto reset position that makes reassembly on the water rather easy. The center lines end in a knot and the outside lines end in loops, throw length is no longer adjustable and floats are no longer integrated into the bar ends for a more flexible connection between the bar and the outside lines. The tips of the bar are soft and the outside leader lines allow riders to adjust the length of the outside lines for stretch or tuning. Testers liked the smooth narrow diameter bar with rubbery grip and commented on the combo of a feature rich package in an overall lightweight design.
