Video submissions have been piling up but the judges have finally deliberated and announced the epic list of riders to compete in for the 2017 title of  King of the Air. These contestants will boost high in the sky on Cape Town’s windiest day between January 21st – February 5th, 2017 at the event site in Big Bay.

The 2017 event will also see a new ”˜compact’ format. This format takes the 12 top ranked from the previous KOTA along with the best four video contest entrants, as well as two wildcards.

Last year’s champion, Aaron Hadlow will return along with the likes of 2016 finalists Jesse Richman (USA) and Kevin Langeree (NED). Crowd favorite Ruben Lenten snagged himself a wildcard spot while Lasse Walker and Lewis Crathern, both of whom spent time in hospital after bad crashes during the 2016 event, will also return for the 2017 event.

The airs are high but the stakes are higher. Stay tuned to see who will be crowned 2017 KOTA!
