THIS EVENT DEPENDS ON WIND for our Kite, Windsurf, and SUP downwinder races… It also depends on flat water for our other SUP races. Therefore, the below schedule is not set in stone and will be subject to change according to the weather!
The working schedule will be announced at the skippers meeting at Palapas Ventana on Jan 5 at 7 pm and then posted daily at the MAIN REGISTRATION/ANNOUNCER tent on the beach during the event. It is your responsibility to stay updated with any schedule changes. Check www.thekiteboarder.com and www.laventanaclassic.com for forecast-based changes!!

Skydiving Spot Landing contest Jan 6 kicks off the event — place your bets for how close to the target Baja Joe or emcee Neil Hutchinson get to the bullseye!

JAN 4,5,6 – CLINICS
JAN 5 – early registration and jersey pickup at Palapas Ventana all day
Come demo the new 2016 and get a punchcard at registration. Limited to first 100. Demo all brands and be eligible for special raffle drawing!
JAN 5 – 6:30 pm Skippers Meeting and welcome party at Palapas Ventana – get the rules and the latest schedule based on the forecast – meet your friends – support the schools
JAN 6 – clinics and Party Island Downwinder Poker Run sponsored by Baja Joes and Elevation Kite School
Whether you’re a pro or not, there’s something for everybody at the Classic.
JAN 6 – Expo opens at Hot Springs Beach – come and try the latest gear all afternoon
JAN 6 – 6:30 pm Party at Joe’s Garage and awards for the poker run winners
JAN 7 – Competitions begin! Skydiving spot landing content with Emcee Neil Hutchinson (Slingshot), Baja Joe and guests in early am, SUP racing in am, course racing or long distance racing in pm. Freestyle and Big Air in windiest part of the day. SUP downwinder, EXPO open all day, school kids dancing, schools and restaurants selling food at the event, fun beach games and awesome raffle.
JAN 7 – 7pm Beach Party at the event site with music from FlipSKA.
Local schools will provide lunch time entertainment. This fundraiser helps support the high school scholarship program.
JAN 8 – SUP racing and skydiving tandems in am, course racing or long distance racing in pm. Freestyle and Big Air in windiest part of the day. SUP downwinder, EXPO open all day, school kids dancing, schools and restaurants selling food at the event, fun beach games and awesome raffle.

JAN 8 – 7pm Big Hair Big Air Pool Party at Club Cerralvo – food drinks competitions and fun! Grab a wig and go big – with the sounds of the legendary surf lucha band, The Mexican Weirdohs

JAN 9 – 7pm La Ventana Beach Resort (Delaneys) hosts OUTER SPACE Party with DJ GROM – DRINKS and FOOD
JAN 10 – SUP racing in am, course racing in pm. Freestyle and Big Air in windiest part of the day, SUP downwinder EXPO open all day (optional demo day for vendors since they are demoing on WED JAN 6), school kids dancing, schools and restaurants selling food at the event, final raffle!
JAN 10 – 7pm AWARDS Night at PIZZA VELA with rock n roll band!
JAN 11 Bloody Marys, massage and giant worn out grins – let’s do it again next year!
