This year, for the first time ever, we are seeing production kites with zero struts. Their designers claim they are lighter, more compact when packed, and feature better low end performance than kites with struts.
The 2013 Liquid Force NRG is a relatively flat 4-strut high-aspect kite. The front bridle features one pulley per side and the rear line attachments are adjustable to change the kite's turning speed and bar pressure.
Six years ago I had my first experience with Egypt when I decided that I wasn’t ready for a normal working life. After three years of intensive studying at university I was in desperate need of a change. I decided that becoming a kiteboarding instructor and taking a position teaching kiting in Egypt for the summer would give me the chance to both improve my riding and get a well-earned break.
For 2013 Liquid Force is offering refined versions of the popular Envy and the NRG and is also bringing back the HIFI in the form of the HIFI X. The twin tip line has also been refreshed and all of the boards are lighter for 2013.
