MACkite would like to invite you to the 12th annual King of the Great Lakes Kiteboarding Competition and Test Fest. From September 28-30, MACkite will be hosting a family-friendly kiteboarding competition formally known as the King of the Great Lakes (KoGL).
The 13th Annual Bridge of the Gods event kicked off this past weekend with a new twist. Known as the event that has launched the pro careers of many riders, this year organizers divided the event into two weekends and tested a new format.
Starting Friday, May 18, competitors from Jalsico, Colima, Sinaloa, Baja, Merida, Cozumel and Cancun got warmed up at the spot, enjoying the warm water, conditions and hospitality of the event location, sponsors, and organizers.
What began as a local competition to help out the local schools in the small Baja community of La Ventana and El Sargento has grown into one of the largest kiteboarding events attracting kiteboarders from all over North America and beyond.
The Second Annual DREAM EXTREME will kick off on Saturday, September 17th with a day-long beachside bash, two-day female kiteboarding clinic and evening dinner party and auction, all benefiting victims of domestic violence.
Day 1 started with trials since the competition only had 24 spaces for men and 32 registered (along with 9 women0. The top 8 men automatically qualified, and all the rest had to go into qualifiers where only 16 men could advance into the main event which starts tomorrow.
The total funds raised in this weekend’s event have not been officially tallied yet, but funds raised by athletes alone were over $40,000. The proceeds will go to Athletes for Cancer’s Survivorship Camps, as well as regional cancer awareness, prevention, and survivorship organizations.
Kite-O-Ween 2011 will be held on Sunday, August 28th 2011, at 1:00pm in the afternoon at the Squamish Spit in Squamish B.C. It's a hilarious, fun filled, light hearted, non serious costume day where kit boarders get dressed up in costumes and compete, while kiteboarding the windy Howe sound,
