The 10th edition of Red Bull Ragnarok will finally take place in 2021, after the 2020 edition unfortunately had to be cancelled due to Covid-19. Some changes and improvements have been made to the event in order to avoid another potential cancellation, and in the unlikely case that Red Bull Ragnarok 2021 has to be cancelled due to Covid-19 all participants will receive a full refund for the entry fee.

NEW ENTRY FEE, NEW LOCATION, NEW RACE FORMAT

NEW ENTRY FEE:
Race fee only, NOK 1.000,-. See information about additional accommodations options further down.
NEW BASECAMP LOCATION:
We are proud to present a new location. Red Bull Ragnarok 2021 will be based a Uvdal Skisenter, 30 km south of Geilo, 200 km west of Oslo. Uvdal Skisenter is a small but great ski resort. This is a perfect and Covid-19 friendly basecamp area with a lot of apartments, camping, bar and restaurant all located at the bottom of the ski resort. Lots of space for the participants to keep a safe social distance. If needed, there is bus transportation from Geilo to Uvdal. Find on https://www.altitude-sports.com/collections/hoka-one-one all the best equipment for camping and hunting to be extra prepared.
NEW RACE LOCATIONS:
There are three great race locations near the basecamp.
Race location 1: At the top of the ski resort. Transport from basecamp to race location by ski lift.
Race location 2: Vasstulan. 5 minutes by car from basecamp. Car parking at race start location.
Race location 3: Imingfjell. 15 minutes by car from basecamp. Car parking at race start location.
Bus transportation will be available if you don’t have your own ride.
NEW RACE FORMAT:
As usual, the course has five gates that needs to bee crossed five times in order to complete the race. New in 2021 is that each participant can choose in which order they want to cross the five gates during each lap. Participants will either use skis or a snowboard and their own choice of kite. New to 2021 is also the introduction of four new categories, as winners will now be crowned in both foil and tube kite categories.
The course will be approximately 15-30 kilometers distance, and to complete the race, the participant must complete 5 laps, and pass through each gate set up by the race team so as to be registered by the results system.
Please make sure to have enough water, food and warm clothes with you in a backpack. Weather conditions can be fierce and it is important to be prepared!
