The Kiteboarder is sad to announce that Liquid Force Kiteboarding division will be closing down effective July 25, 2020. One of the original kiteboarding companies from the beginning of our sport, the parent company that owned the LF kite division plans to focus its resources back on its roots in wakeboarding and with the recent acquisition of Freedom Foil Boards, it will invest in foils for all water sports.

The Liquid Force kite division was one of the first brands to support The Kiteboarder Magazine from its inception back in 2004. We would like to thank the Liquid Force crew over the years for their relentless passion and being a driving force for progression in our industry. The LF team was the first brand to release a production single-strut kite (The Solo) and were one of the first kite brands to develop a production foilboard product, that featured most notably an extruded aluminum masts (The Kitefish Foil). The LFK legacy heralds legendary characters such as Corky Cullen, Jeff Burton, Gregg ‘Tekko’ Gnecco, Jason Slezak, Gary Siskar, Brandon Scheid and Rich Sabo. There is no doubt that the legendary LF crew spread their pure stoke for kiteboarding everywhere they went, and that it was infectious!

As of June 30, 2020, the Hood River office will be closed down and all customer service and warranty issues will be managed out of the brand’s Carlsbad office in San Diego. Blaine Baker will remain the point of contact for all LF kite related inquiries via [email protected]. The company stated it does not plan to order any new inventory, and will do its best to handle all warranty claims, repairs and questions within a reasonable amount of time.

RIP Liquid Force Kiteboarding. Thank you for your many contributions to our sport and your dedication to pushing the stoke ball forward.
