Adding more appeal to this popular design, the new flex tips make the ride smoother and landings softer. We’ve also centered the inserts for this year allowing riders to easily transition between rails which dramatically extends the life of the board. Its full rocker and beveled razor channel rails handle even the choppiest of waters smoothly. The pop wood core gives the Motion responsive flex while providing balanced power and superior edging while helping to absorb hard landings. The added fin beam in the tip section adds rigidity to the fin mounting area, increasing edging ability and hold when traveling upwind.

The Naish Motion is back with its new flex tip construction and its time-tested mix of all-around performance freeride fun. The Motion rocks a single concave from tip to tip with little channels built into the rail for a subtle bottom shape. The outline features boxy tips and looking down the side, you will visually identify tons of rocker in the tips with a small flatter section in the middle that gives the Motion its wide riding range and good-balanced appeal to different riding styles. The Motion feels really efficient in the water and offers solid high-end board speed that translates really well into easy and quick upwind tacks to get you back to where you started. The weight feels lighter and the wood core delivers a soft to medium flex pattern that takes the edge off aggressive chop; the load and pop is solid for general freeride with an easy clean release from the water every time. The fins and the new boxy tip outline land on the skatey side of things keeping the board loose and active, but seem to give the Motion a solid springy pop off the water on jumps; this board required a bit more heel pressure to keep the fins and rail engaged while carving. Overall, the Motion scores high as an active fast freeride board that has a skatey fun feel for more medium to aggressive freeride kiters looking for bump and jump performance.
The Motion features three insert options down the center for selecting your stance width and the Apex pad and strap system features a number of fine-tuning options for setting duck stance. The footbed is really comfortable with a plush feeling and the soft rubbery pad features tons of grip with a raised contour under the arc of your foot with cupping around your heel. The Apex uses various foam inserts to allow you to dial in the level of your density in the footpad when you set up your board. This year Naish has added an XL size to offer the Apex in two sizes (shoe sizes 5-12 and 9-15). There’s a subtle toe bump to keep your toes locked in and the straps feature forward and aft settings to move the strap more over your toes or more over your arch to dial in the snuggest fit. The straps offer quad Velcro adjustments that allow you to dial each zone of the strap separately for perfect coverage. Testers gave the Apex system strong reviews for comfort and security that keeps your foot in place and your inputs transferring directly to the board.
