At 16 years old Leo Verrecchia has begun to solidify his name in the Australian Kite scene as one of Naish’s upcoming freestyle standouts. Hailing from Western Australia, Leo has grown up riding the Torch and Stomp at the spot simply known as The Pond where the 2019 Australian National Championships were hosted. His top goal was to win the Junior U18’s, which he accomplished. Even with securing the title, he wasn’t done competing, taking on the extra challenge of competing in the Open Mens division as well.

“In the Open Men’s I was up against some tough competition. After not doing so well in one of my earlier heats, I finished with a solid set of great heats, landing almost every trick attempted which put me through to the men’s final. The final was pretty tough as the wind came in really strong but I managed to take our third place which I’m stoked on as well.” said Leo. Be sure to follow Leo as he continues to make his mark in kiteboarding.
