Just a few weeks ago, the Guinness World Records certified the longest distance kited in 24 hours. On August 11, 2017, Nick Levi began kitefoiling at 4:17am finished at 9:43pm, covering 543 miles within California’s Sacramento River Delta. The wind ranged between 13 to 27 miles per hour as Nick kited on his Ozone Edge V9 at an average speed of 21.9mph for the first 18 hours. As dusk turned to dark Nick used Aquavolta lights as well as bike lights on the kite for reference as he kited in the dark. His distance was tracked via GPS withtwo Suunto Ambit watches, a Garmin Fenix watch and two Velocitek speed pucks. Congratulations Nick! What record will Mr. Long Distance break next?
