CrazyFly Says:

Our full carbon top model received a brand new shape after seven years. When you make a very good shape, it is hard to make a better one and we spent three years working on the new Raptor LTD. The 2018 Raptor LTD also comes in a brand new Neon version for customers who prefer better visibility of the board in dark water.

Sticking to its core properties of a high-end freeride/freestyle board, it remains a full carbon, ultra-light masterpiece. The 2018 Raptor LTD features a brand new Ellipse double concave shape in the center of the bottom for unmatched comfort and Double V tips for better grip when popping. Buttery soft in chop, yet dynamic for high-end freeride and freestyle. Brand new CompFlex 4T5 Carbon on the bottom of the board makes the new LTD even more comfortable and smoother, especially in choppy water. Latest in the Carbon tech world, the CompFlex 4T5 has a brand new weave which provides much more flex without sacrificing the strength. Plus the new weave is thinner and requires less epoxy resulting in 0.1 kg weight savings per board.

CrazyFly exclusive and latest in tech, the Nano Glide Skin on the bottom of the board helps the board track and go upwind better thanks to its micro channels. The Nano Glide skin foil has better gliding properties and generates speed quicker, plus it is more resistant to scratches. The top of the board has a brand new matt overprint for that eye catching premium look.

Tkb Says:

The Raptor LTD is back in all its ultra-lightweight, racey performance, this year with a new bottom shape and new graphics that have integrated splashy colors into the previously dark carbon graphics making the board much easier to find when lost on the water. The first thing you notice about the Raptor LTD is its amazing lightweight feel in your hand when carrying it. That sensation doesn’t stop there because once you are flying through the chop and boosting airs, the board is so light it feels incredibly responsive to your every move. The Raptor LTD features a fairly solid locked in feel due to its bottom shape and fin size which is similar to the regular version of this board, but with the lower weight it makes this board feel both high performance and user-friendly at the same time. This board feels like the flex is a little bit lighter than the regular Raptor, making it easier to load and pop for the average kiteboarder, while it cuts through chop and seems to want to rocket upwind. The LTD’s edge control gives it a ton of hold in carving which makes dicing up chop and waves super fun. Overall, the Raptor LTD is one of our favorites in the test not only because of its lightweight construction but because its shape and flex delivers a board that is easy to use and will keep you busy having the time of your life doing just about everything extremely well.

The Raptor LTD came with the Hexa pad and strap system which received high praise from our testers for all around comfort and adjustability. The footbed features a fair amount of heel cup in the back, some gentle contours under the arch and solid toe grip up front to keep your foot in place during big moves. The dot-style grip EVA on the pad is grippy and strikes an excellent balance between plush and density factor to maintain solid control of the board with enough cushion for hard landings or pounding through the worst chop.
