In previous years at The Kiteboarder Magazine, we’ve consistently tested light wind kites, but we’ve always heard people hem and haw about what qualities make for a solid high wind kite. This year, we decided that we’d gather the best kites for high wind conditions and test them back to back. In the industry’s first high wind kite test, we tested 13 kites (from the likes of Airush, BWS, Cabrinha, Core, F-ONE, Liquid Force, Naish, North, Ozone, Slingshot, JN, Flysurfer and Star) in Waddell Creek’s consistent upper 20s to figure out what works best on the smaller end of the rip stop spectrum.
