CrazyFly Says:

Last year the Raptor received a complete makeover and it flew of the sales chart and immediately became our top seller. The Raptor is a freeride freestyle high performance board for intermediate to advanced rider level, it will bring never before experienced ride feelings. Thanks to a Multi Channel bottom shape and V tips, the Raptor has the perfect balance between speed and grip. The Step Cap deck technology allows for thinner rails for ultimate edging and amazing upwind.

For 2017, we introduced a brand new Nano Glide Skin on the bottom of the board. The micro channels on this foil help the board track and go upwind better. The foil has better gliding properties and generates speed quicker, plus it is more resistant to scratches. The top of the board has a brand new matt overprint for that eye catching premium look. Raptor’s construction layup combines multi axial fiberglass and brand new X carbon. This construction is a little bit softer than the previous Raptor boards, making it more comfortable. The X carbon provides for plenty of pop to pull off tricks. Light Up sidewalls are stronger and lighter than ever with an attractive color changing look.

Tkb Says:

The 2017 CrazyFly Raptor features a double concave with a channel in the rail and batwing tips. The Raptor comes with three stance width adjustments and a series of duck stance options. Compared to the Raptor LTD, the regular Raptor has a little softer flex than its all carbon counterpart. Its overall weight compared to the boards in the rest of the test felt really good, but the LTD version is noticeably lighter. The Raptor blends the fun of an active board with solid edge control that makes it well mannered in the chop. It takes relatively little energy to control the Raptor’s edge through chop and it likes to track upwind while feeling super efficient. The Raptor comes with the Hexa binding which offers four zones of Velcro adjustment with a nice neoprene feel against the top of your foot that is all encompassing. Each of the four anchors for the strap adjustment can be moved forward and aft to achieve the perfect fit to the top of foot. The footpads got great reviews with subtle cupping contour around your heel, good arch support, a solid toe ridge and a soft to medium rubber base. Overall, the Hexa binding offers the perfect combination of customization for comfort while delivering control and performance. Testers commented that if you don’t have the money to spend on the LTD, the Raptor is a perfectly fine Plan B board for the performance freeride and freestyle kiter.
