North Says:

The Evo is the all-rounder of the range best suited to freeriders of all disciplines. The 5 strut design combined with the new Dacron frame, 3D Shaping and an updated tip strut design ensures an even cleaner profile and faster turning then in previous years. When hitting the waves, the Evo wants the rider to use a proactive steering style. If you want to boost, take to the sky with the powerful lift and incredible hangtime. If unhooking is on your agenda, the Evo delivers. With this perfect blend of freestyle performance added to the mix, the Evo won’t ever hold you back, doesn’t matter what you’re up to.

TKB Says:

The 2017 Evo is a 5-strut Delta shaped 4-line kite with a medium aspect canopy that North markets for hooked-in freestyle and all around freeriding. North’s large diameter inflation valve connects directly with its pump hose without the use of a nozzle and the inflation system’s twist valve rotates with the insertion and removal of the hose which makes inflating and packing up quick and easy. The Evo features a single setting front bridle and three tuning options on the wingtips. It is a highly refined kite that does just about everything pretty well, which lends to the high praise it received among the testers. The Evo scored well for its quick turning and crisp steering response on its tight pivot-style turning arc. With medium to light bar pressure that’s easy on your arms, the Evo has very progressive power delivery, excellent depower and solid drift off the wind. Testers commented on the kite’s easy water relaunch ability, especially from the center of the window where pulling on the outside of the bar quickly rotates the kite into the launching position. The Evo is often referred to as the 4-line counterpart to the 5-line Rebel, yet while the Evo delivers good lift and hangtime for big air hooked-in freestyle, it also has the qualities of quick turning, drift, and fast relaunch that makes it a suitable option in the surf. Its depower range and pivot style turning also make it a top choice for foilboarding sessions.TKB-FREERIDE-2017-NORTH-BAR-CLICK-BAR The Click Bar is the latest 4-line control bar released by North and features a new power adjustment system that is built into the control bar and is easily accessed while riding. By simply twisting the right side of the bar you can power up your kite, or by pressing a button you can depower it, keeping the power controls within your reach at all times — a visual  indicator built into the bar shows where you are in the tuning of your kite. The Click Bar comes in a single 49cm length with 22m or 24m line lengths and features a single center-line safety depower system, high-V, a durable plastic throw line that untwists itself after you spin, a sliding stopper and North’s proven push away quick release. The bar features retractable bar bungees, soft bar ends and integrated floats. The Click Bar settles the debate between above or below the bar tuning by placing it exactly at your fingertips. The twisting motion for power up takes a little bit of focus while riding and the button for depower is easily accessed at all times. While it’s a big shift to the systems we have come to know, seamless controls like this are the future of the sport.
