Airush Says:

As the do-all kite in the Airush range, the Lithium has been proven to meet the requirements of riders looking to do a bit of everything from freeride, jumping, looping and waves. With amazing park power, stability and ease of use, the Lithium is simply the perfect kite. The focus of wingtip and strut layout in conjunction with the Delta Hybrid design insures the quickest response throughout the air as well as instant relaunching capabilities.

The Lithium 17 uses the same Lithium freeride flying characteristics in the extreme light wind category. Both innovative in their own designs, these kites are focused on reducing weight in the overall construction.

TKB Says:

This is our first test with the 17m version of the Lithium with it’s 3-strut Delta shaped platform. While the Lithium is one step down in the grunt department when compared to the likes of the 18m Zero we tested last year, the 17m Lithium has a really nice pivot turn and it’s steering response, fairly quick turning for its size, allows you to place it where you want it and get the most out of the wind window. The swooped leading edge profile makes for a quick and easy relaunch as the 3-strut airframe seems to keep the canopy crisp while keeping overall weight down. The bar offers a relatively short throw between depower and full power and surprisingly perfect middle of the road bar pressure that you would not expect from a 17m kite.

Airush sent us their Race Bar to test with our Lithium. The Race Bar offers a wide range of adjustable lengths from, 45-52-55-62 and a Clamcleat depower system instead of the depower strap with extension handles you see on all other Airush bars. It’s got thinner flying lines and a PU coated sheeting/throw line, sliding stopper. The push away quick release features an integrated swivel that doubles as a quick release guard on the bottom end. The center lines end in a knot and the outside lines end in loops. While the PU coated sheeting/throw line offers durability and longevity, the length of sheeting/throw cannot be adjusted. The floats are attached to the durable rubber molding encased bar tips for a softer bar end and the outside leader lines allow riders to adjust the length of the outside lines for stretch or tuning. The grip strikes a nice balance between grippy texture and medium plushy grip.
