The PKRA announced dates for the first stop of the 2015 World Tour this week, to be held in the mystical kiteboarding paradise of Dakhla, Morocco. The host venue will be the Dakhla Attitude Hotel as in the previous years of the PKRA World Tour. It will start with the official Wave and Freestyle qualification event from March 18 22, 2015, followed by the Freestyle, Big Air and Wave official competition March 23 29, 2015.
The Freestyle, the Freestyle qualification event, and the Big Air competition will be held at the Dakhla Attitude Hotel Lagoon, known for its steady strong winds and flat water. In addition, Dakhla will offer the wave qualification and main event at the Foum Labouir wave spot, known for its long perfect right hand break. During this time of the year, the probability of getting good waves and wind are extremely high. 2014 saw great conditions throughout the competition.
FREESTYLE
There will be two qualifying events during the 2015 season: one in Dahkla before the first event and another in Tarifa in the middle of the season.
2015 Freestyle ladder: 24 men and 12 women.
Pre-qualified riders: Top 14 men and Top 7 women
(from 2014 Freestyle ranking for the first 2015 Freestyle events and from the current 2015 Freestyle ranking before the Tarifa event for the remaining 2015 events after the Tarifa Qualifiers).
Local event organizer’s wildcard: 2 men and 1 women.
For the 2015 Freestyle season, the new Injury Wildcard will be in place and is entitled to any rider ranked top 12 for men and top 6 for women at the time of their injury during 2014. The Technical Committee has to review and approve any Injury Wildcard given before the start of the 2015 season.

NEW OVERALL TITLE
There will be an Overall Title for the best rider across all disciplines throughout the year. It will be a highly contested prize and the winner takes it all! A detailed explanation of the system will follow soon.
REGISTRATION
Pre-registration will start on Saturday February 7th, at the pro kite tour website www.prokitetour.com under the Morocco event.
Registration for all riders is $100.00 USD with a $25.00 USD late fee if not paid by March 11, 2015.
All pre-qualified riders need to pre-register and pay by March 11, 2015 in order to reserve the pre-qualified spot. Your paypal email receipt is confirmation of your registration. If you dont get the paypal payment confirmation email or you are having problems with the registration please email to [email protected]
Mandatory registration for all riders competing in the qualification event is on Tuesday March 17, 2015 from 18:00 to 20:00 hrs at the Dakhla registration office.
Mandatory registration for pre-qualified riders competing in the main event is on Sunday March 22, 2015 from 18:00 to 20:00 hrs at the Dakhla registration office.
A proof of personal medical insurance with worldwide coverage for accident and injuries will be required at registration for each competitor. An English translation will be required.
