Congratulations to Ryan Theory Curtwright, aka ‘the WindRocker,’ of Seattle, Washington! The lucky winner of the recent Tkb and Virgin Kitesur Armada Nobile board giveaway, Ryan just won himself a brand new custom graphic Nobile NHP twin tip. Upon hearing the news, Ryan said, “I have to say this is the most exciting news I think I have ever woke up to!  I am bouncing off the walls right now. I have never won a drawing like this so…WOW!”

The NHP is Nobile’s high performance, freestyle twin tip.

Ryan and his wife Becky started kiteboarding in 2009 after going to Cabarete to  take lessons.  Like many, they instantly fell in love with the sport and it soon consumed their lives. “Since then, we have traveled to Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cabarete (several times), and Hatteras,” said Ryan. “Our local spots are in the Seattle area were we almost always have a beach to kite at when the wind blows, plus Hood River is only 3-4 hrs drive from where we live.”

Ryan, his wife Becky and little Avy will be starting a new chapter in their lives this upcoming January.

The new board couldn’t have come at a better time for Ryan and his family as they will soon embark on a new chapter in their lives.Ryan teaches kiteboarding lessons for Urban Surf Kiteboarding in Seattle and recently earned his IKO Level 2 certification after four summers of teaching. This upcoming January he and his wife  are quitting their careers of 25 cumulative years to chase the wind with Avy, their 2-year-old in tow.  Besides traveling and experiencing world-class conditions and other cultures, they hope to find a little piece of windy paradise that they can call home, and with hard work and dedication, slowly build up an action sports centered boutique resort offering kiting, SUPing, surfing, and non-windy day adventure alternatives for their guests. You can follow their adventures on Ryan’s  “Theory of the Windrocker” blog: to the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada and Nobile Kiteboards for stoking Tkb reader Ryan Curtwright out!
