Ozone Says:

The Edge is a no compromise design; we wanted a kite that is as refined as a race car in terms of high end performance. The sleek low drag planform combined with our high power airfoil section results in a kite that is fast, powerful and dynamic. The addition of our new low drag Aramid bridle lines takes the Edge one step further, these bridle lines are 50% thinner than the standard bridle line and gives the Edge a turbo charged feel.

The beauty of the Edge is that anyone can enjoy its performance, not just racers. It is a great light wind kite on a twin tip because of its amazing power generation. It will get you up and riding in the lightest wind with its tremendous low-end and when the wind picks up it becomes the ultimate boost machine.

OZONE EDGE 2014 LIGHTWIND REVIEW

Our Testers Say:

“Solid kite that cranks upwind, super stable and powerful,” Marko Bartscherer.

“Best flat water race kite I’ve flown, flies forward in the window and goes upwind like no other,” Clint Sterba.

“Fun race style kite, great upwind, good depower which is more ideal for cruising around than freestyle tricks,” Jeff Quick.

TKB Says:

The Edge is a high aspect 5-strut race design that earned high praise for its upwind ability in the light winds of San Diego. The Edge offers a large diameter inflation valve that requires the bigger nozzle that comes standard with all pumps, making inflation and deflation quick and easy. The Edge features extra thin bridle lines, thin micro struts, a double Ripstop trailing edge, three turning speed attachment settings on the wingtip, as well as a non-adjustable fixed front bridle which is medium in length. Our testers across the board commented on the Edge’s impressive upwind ability. Testers praised the medium bar pressure, solid stability and above average boosting performance and hangtime. Compared to the Zephyr, the Edge didn’t turn quite as fast but the Edge shined when it came to getting upwind in the lightest of wind conditions.

OZONE EDGE 2014 LIGHTWIND REVIEW

The Edge came with the Contact Control System which is a fixed length 55cm bar. This clean yet functional bar features a new push away quick release, plastic coated depower/throw line, single center-line safety depower, above bar depower cleat, and a hand operated quick release swivel. Testers liked the simplicity of the bar and attention to detail like the disappearing bar-end bungees. Some of our freeride testers thought the quick release required some extra finesse to reset in the water, but we think that could be resolved with greater familiarity with the mechanism.
