RRD Says:

The Vision MK III is RRD’s All Terrain Kite. The 3-strut design and very short leading edge give the RRD Vision its comfort and predictability. The kite body is lightweight and the bridle is short and never gets tangled. The relatively closed design of the leading edge helps position the kite perfectly in the window, never too far forward nor back, just right where it needs to be to let you feel safe and in control. The Vision comes with segmented struts that move the draft of the kite more forward in the window making the kite more stable and smooth in gusty conditions. The Vision is great for beginners because it gives performance with no lack of comfort and is truly a pleasure to ride on the water. See what you are missing by riding the new Vision.

Our Testers Say:

“Very stable with easy relaunch, average turning speed and overall low-end grunty feel,” Johnathan Dixon.

“Liked the bar and boosts well when powered up with good acceleration but can be jerky when overpowered,” Davey Beard.

“Sits farther back in the window with predictable steering speed, good feedback and easy relaunch making it ideal for entry level kiters.” Brendan Richards.

Meet the 2014 TKB Test Team.

TKB Says:

The Vision is a 3-strut medium to lower aspect kite with slightly swept tips that features a large diameter inflation valve that requires the bigger nozzle that comes standard with all pumps, making inflation and deflation quick and easy. The lightweight 3-strut canopy uses sewn in graphics to further reduce weight and features a new strut design that changes the profile to increase stability and depower. Testers liked the Vision’s predictable user-friendly handling, super stable canopy and notable hangtime. Compared to the Obsession, the Vision is slower turning with slightly more bar pressure but was easier to relaunch from dead downwind. Testers felt the Vision would work well as an all around freeride kite for beginner and intermediate kiters.
RRD-VISION-CONTROL-BAR-2014-GEAR-REVIEW

The Vision came with the Global Bar V5 which features a push away quick release, plastic depower/throw line, center routed double center line safety depower, above bar tuning Clam Cleat, adjustable length bar ends (47, 56cm) and unique low stretch rigid thread flying lines. Testers liked the simple push away quick release and overall clean yet functional layout of the bar. The medium length throw puts the tuning cleat well within reach and testers praised the tuning handle for incorporating an elastic bungee which keeps excess slack in place when depowered.
