Liquid Force Says:

Loaded with new features for 2014, the fifth generation lightweight Envy offers outstanding stability, drift and do-it-all response. New for 2014, the Envy features Synergy Struts fused with an ultra-strong Techno Force T9600 canopy, re-engineered swept wingtips, and the pulley-free Low-Profile Cascade Bridle that creates a direct feel and eliminates bridle tangles.

The result? Optimized safety, enhanced auto relaunch, plus smooth, predictable power delivery, increased high-end wind range, and extra rigidity for faster response, pivotal turning, direct feel, and superior downwind drift. Like all other Liquid Force kites, the three-strut Envy features our durable Bomb-proof Construction, lightning-fast Max Flow inflation system, and the super-safe CPR Control System.

With the hybrid delta profile and 3-strut design the Envy sits mid forward in the wind window. This position is ideal for stability and drift in the kite. The position also aids in upwind progression and allows for down the line float when in surf or riding straight at the kite down wind.

Our Testers Say:

“This kite likes wind! Nice responsive turns, generated good power with C-like performance,” Davey Beard.

“This kite had a lot of power, went upwind well and relaunched easily. The tuning line was easy to reach, but was difficult to adjust because of amount of pull and angle required,” Cherie Costello.

“Compared to last year, this kite initiates turns much quicker and the canopy feels more efficient,” Dray Murray.

Meet the 2014 TKB Test Team.

TKB Says:

The Envy is a 3-strut medium aspect kite featuring a really solid build quality with good attention to detail and an overall feel of durability. The Envy uses the large diameter Max Flow valve making it one of the fastest inflation systems on the market. It does require a proprietary nozzle, but the kite features a 9mm alternative in a pinch. The Envy features medium bar pressure with average boost and impressive hangtime. Testers found the kite stable with average yet predictable turning speed and praised its downwind drift. Testers found the Envy doesn’t build a lot of power in its pivoting turn, but overall it is a fun and user friendly kite that works well across the board for freestyle, wakestyle and surfing in the waves.

LIQUIDFORCE-ENVY-CONTROL-BAR-2014-GEAR-REVIEW

The Envy came with the fixed length (45, 50, 55cm) CPR Control Bar. It features a push away quick release, single center line safety depower, below bar tuning cleat, sliding stopper, above bar swivel and soft protective bar ends with integrated floats. Testers found the bar comfortable and like other below bar cleating systems, reviewers commented on the pros and cons. We found the cleat to work fine with appropriate technique and the design allows the tuning controls to stay within reach while providing the option for longer travel throw and an overall clean system. The chicken loop stays attached to the rider upon trigger of the quick release and is simple to reassemble and well designed with non-mechanical parts.
