The IKA KiteFoil GoldCup will make its big debut this Spring in warm and sunny Mexico. From March 13-17, 2014, foilboarders from around the world will gather in La Ventana to race for $10,000 USD prize money.
The IKA´s KiteFoil GoldCup signals the launch of a new discipline of kiteboarding and also a new World Tour with 4 stops around the globe in 2014. The first event is in La Ventana, Baja California Sur where 100 points will be awarded and a $10,000 USD prize purse will be split between competition winners. The event will attract foilboarders from France (mother country of foilboarding), Poland, Venezuela, Germany and other countries. Riders will experience the perfect training conditions that La Ventana has to offer professional kite racers.
The La Ventana KiteFoil GoldCup is the first international foilboarding competition that will offer participants credit toward world ranking points. The 2nd tour stop is not scheduled to occur until August in Switzerland, making the La Ventana stop a “must attend” event for riders who desire a shot at the KiteFoil GoldCup Championship Title.
