JN Says:

Being focused on one style is good, but serving all styles is even better. With a revised open C design, we focused on creating a more performance orientated Wild Thing than ever. The 5th generation of the Wild Thing provides fast turning, strong static pull, powerful lift and enhanced low wind performance.

The Wild Thing benefits from the rich innovative features from JN, like Perfect Round Arc Shape combined with the best materials available to the industry. We accepted no compromise in quality. To answer the low wind requirements of our performance model there are the sizes: 14 and 16+. Our easy four line bridle kite with open C shape and our Virtual 5th Line offers the benefits of a fast responding performance weapon when you need it.

With Wild Thing expect a sportive, fast turning, well balanced modern 4 with optional 5 line kite concept serving freestyle or freeride.

Our Testers Say:

“Wicked fun kite with fast turning, precise handling and good air speed. The wingtips deformed when overpowered but it pulled like a diesel, handled like a mini,” Laird Davis.

“Fast with good steady pull through turns with big lift in sent jumps, but the bar material is a little rough,” Eric MaCauliffe.

“Great hybrid-C shape with steady pull and nice lift, not an upwind machine but I really liked it,” Davey Beard.

Meet the 2014 TKB Test Team.

TKB Says:

The Wild Thing is a 5-strut medium-aspect kite that features the standard 9mm inflation / 11mm dump valve, thinner diameter leading edge, three wingtip settings for turning speed / bar pressure and a noticeably higher center line V. Testers commented on the Wild Thing’s medium bar pressure, smooth steady pull through turns and commented on its fast turning speed and impressive boost in powered conditions. Testers noticed the potential for the kite to backstall in lighter wind conditions but recommended the Wild Thing for intermediate and advanced riders seeking a lively freeride kite for boosting big airs.

JN-WILDTHING-CONTROL-BAR-2014-GEAR-REVIEW

The Wild Thing came with the Master’s Craft adjustable length bar which features a simple push away quick release, single center line safety depower, plastic depower/throw line and above bar tuning cleat. Some testers commented on the extra clutter of the safety depower line which runs all the way up to the high center line V but the safety system works well and the center routed safety line is cleanly routed through the center of the plastic depower line. Some testers also commented on the overly aggressive rubber grip of the bar, but some liked its medium density.
