More than 100 people came out for the Baja premier of With a Kite at the Buena Vista Hotel and Spa.
Day 2 of the Lord of the Wind and KiteXpo was a windless but beautiful Baja day with participants enjoying the sun and warm water as they prepped gear, met up with other riders and planned strategy after checking out this year’s new race course. Windsurf competitor MacRae Wylde was especially excited with the new setup saying that the course looked super fun and challenging and is looking forward to battling it out with his fellow competitors.
Emcee Grom kept the crowd entertained with beach games and updates on what everyone can expect wind and event wise for the rest of the week. In the evening, participants came out to enjoy the Baja Premier of With a Kite, sponsored by Exotikite Kiteboarding and The Kiteboarder and hosted by the sponsor Hotel, Buena Vista Hotel and Spa. Special thanks to Filmmaker Adam Boozer and Naish pro rider Davey Blair for getting on a 3am flight to make it out to Los Barriles to introduce their film.

Today’s forecast is calling for light winds with racing scheduled. The weekend is looking excellent for Freestyle, Hang Time and the Lord of the Wind Race Showdown with $11K in prize money up for grabs. The free KiteXpo demo will start at noon and run through 4p with Airush, Best, Cabrinha, Core, North and Slingshot participating.
Tonight’s party will be at Buena Vista Hotel and Spa starting at 6p with drinks and a silent auction followed by a delicious buffet dinner at 7p and and Cabo’s most popular reggae band starting at 8p. Meal tickets are $20 each and reservations are encouraged/recommended. Shuttles will start running at 5:30p every 15-20 minutes fro the Los Barriles hotel (in front of the wall, hotel is next to Smokey’s on main strip). Return shuttles back to town will begin around 9p.
