Berlin, Germany: KSP informed their riders, members and partners yesterday that the event scheduled to take place at the end of October as a Puerto Rico tour stop has officially been canceled.
The organization committee did everything in their power to try and make an alternate event happen and negotiated with organizers and government bodies in Brazil and Ecuador which seemed promising at first, but unfortunately it did not work out in the end.
As previously discussed with board members and riders at the KSP Annual General Meeting as well as the KSP’s sanctioning body IKA, the 2013 Wave World Championships will now take place on Maui from November 22 – December 1, 2013 in a “one-off” world championship competition. The KSP will focus all its efforts on making the Ho’okipa Kite Surf Pro a spectacular event and re-focus to come back better and stronger in 2014.
