The 2013 Pacific Pilsner West Coast Open delivered plenty of wind and action this weeked. Also known as the Canadian Kiteboard Racing Championships, the event took place from July 26-28, 2013 in beautiful Squamish, BC, Canada.
37 riders from 5 countries were thrown into the 25-30 knot arena, known as Howe Sound. The course was set within a rocky fjord and four double lap races were scheduled. The course itself was also placed against a rock wall, requiring riders to tack just a few feet from the face of a 200 ft cliff. The kiting here is exciting to watch– and the scenery is equally spectacular.
