Anticipation for the 3rd Annual Sunset Swim Charity Fashion Show ran high this month on Hatteras. Since it’s inception, the event has been a unique and interactive part of the Triple S Invitational at REAL Watersports. While 7 nights of parties is exhilarating, the Charity Show is more than just an evening of drinks and dancing.

The event is dedicated to giving back. All proceeds directly benefit the Hood River-based charity, Athletes 4 Cancer, and this year’s show raised a record-breaking $7813. Together with a volunteers from Waves, NC– event organizer Sensi Graves (owner/designer of SENSI bikinis) has created an annual fundraiser whose contributions to Athletes for Cancer  total over $17,000 in just three years.

Athletes for Cancer is a nationally- recognized non-profit dedicated to enriching lives impacted by cancer. The fashion show specifically raises money for their Camp Koru Survivorship Program which uses surfing, standup paddling, skiing & snowboarding as channels of growth and life-renewal after cancer has taken so much away.

Featuring bikinis and beachwear by Body Glove, Roxy, Headware, June Swimwear, Neon Jungle by Harmony and SENSI Bikinis, this year’s house was packed with over 100 VIP tickets sold and standing room only. It was evening of bikinis, belly dancers, door prizes, raffle prizes, and impromptu live auctions. Both the Tona board winner and North Gambler winner gave their prize back to be auctioned off — truly demonstrating the generous spirits of those in attendance.

Thanks to all those who helped make it possible: REAL Watersports, Watermen’s Bar & Grill, Blu Boutique, Ocean Atlantic Rentals, Sunset Salon, Big Hair Productions, Carolina Brewing Company, Dakine, Liquid Force, North Kiteboarding, Mesmerizing Arts, Hexagon Wake Park, Beats by Dre, Koru Village, Tribu,  Jamie Armstrong, Marissa Dodd, Chris Stuckey, Lindsey Cherpes, Jamie Dronyk, Heidi Buhm, Harmony Sheila, Victoria Dwyer, Becky Willard, Heather Kepski, Annie Carrier, Paula Rosales, Claire Lutz, Britney Penouilh, Audrey Fregeau, Jessica Perigny, Sarah Gons and Whitney Amaker.
