2012 BUYER’S GUIDE: Nobile Kiteboarding

For 2012 Nobile will be introducing a new freestyle kite, a light wind/race kite, and a wave directional board as well as a new control bar while the rest of the line has been tweaked to improve construction and performance. Two new customer service reps were also brought onto the team who will handle all demos and US and Canadian customer and warranty inquiries. Nobile’s Maciej Wacławczyk answered our questions about what we can expect from the company’s 2012 product lineup.

2012 BUYER’S GUIDE: Liquid Force Kiteboarding

2012 BUYER’S GUIDE: FireWire Kitesurf

Kenya Diani Cup Kitesurfing Competition, December 28-29, 2011

The 2011 Diani Kitesurfing Competition or Kenya Cup is the final stop for all competitive riders in Kenya. Run alongside the Che Shale Kite Masters Event which is hosted in August, is allows those that have been riding a chance to hold down the Kenya Cup Title and also provides the necessary experience and confidence for anyone with some talent and motivation to make the step up into the International Kite Surfing Competition scene.

As the surf began firing at four- to seven-feet, 24 men and 12 women from 15 different countries duked it out over the following three days for the coveted tour stop title.

Erin Swain: Lost Board

The last time I kited, I started to realize that I needed a smaller board. I finally decided to buy a used one, and Dimitiri Maramenides happened to have one great for me. It was 129 cm long which was perfect for me. I was stoked. Not only did I grab the board just in time for a session, but Dimitri had a 10M screamer for me to demo.

KSP Peru Day 7: Final Results from Pacasmayo!

Bringing the second stop of the World Championship Kite Surfing Tour to a close, day seven of the 10-day holding period delivered another dose of world-class conditions and next-level action. Throughout the final 12 heats, competitors rode once again predominantly strapless, drawing lines comparable to high-level surfing.

KSP Peru Day 6: More Heats Held in Great Conditions

Amidst another day of prime wind and waves in Northern Peru, contest directors made excellent use of the epic conditions at the main staging area at El Faro (the lighthouse), completing 18 heats, making it all the way up to the Quarter Finals. As head-high sets wrapped around the point all day, once again, riders predominantly kite surfed unstrapped.

KSP Peru Day 5: The Competition Gets Underway in Great Conditions

After four days of waiting for solid conditions to arrive in Northern Peru, the Pacasmayo Kite Surf Pro finally got underway late this morning. Running nearly until sundown in the 15- to 20-knot winds and five- to seven-foot waves (faces), Men’s and Women’s Round 1, and Men’s Round 2 were completed at the second KSP World Championship Kite Surfing Tour stop.
