Today was the first day of the 2011 Pismo Beach KiteXpo and the conditions delivered on the Central Coast. This morning started with clear blue skies and riders were on the water by 1 pm.
The wind continued to build over the afternoon and riders who went out on large kites had to come in to the beach to launch smaller kites. Most riders were on 9m kites when the wind quickly shut off around 4 pm.
During the window of wind, the participating brands had their hands full launching demo kites and riders were able to test multiple kites. The day was capped off with a raffle that featured an Underground board, Underwave harness, Epic Screamer kite, and a 7-day trip to Portugal.
Tomorrow the demo begins as soon as the wind arrives, which it is forecasted to do. Tomorrow evening will be a beach bonfire and BBQ. This weekend is shaping up to be a great weekend to demo some new kiteboarding gear, so find your way to Pismo Beach to have a good time while helping to raise money for Kinsley!
