Rob Douglas, using Curtis Fins, set a new World Sailing Speed Record (still awaiting certification by the WSSRC) over 500 meters at 55.65 knots. This is equivalent to 64 MPH, 103KPH, 28.628 meters per second or Mach .097.

With this record Curtis Fins has held more World Sailing Speed Records than any other equipment maker.

  • 1990 Pascal Maka (France) 43.06 knots
  • 2008 Rob Douglas (USA) 49.84 knots
  • 2010 Rob Douglas (USA) 55.65 knots

All of us at Curtis Fins want to congratulate Rob and the whole Black Dog team on their dedication and hard work to achieve this milestone in sailing history.
