EVENT REPORT: Regatta Copa Mexico, Puerto Vallarta, March 4, 2010

The 2010 North American Championships are going on right now in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and The Kiteboarder Magazine is here on site on the beautiful Banderas Bay. For the past three days, the course racers have been battling it out and there has been a lot of close racing. All of the riders have pulled out their latest boards and fins, and there are even a few prototype production course racing boards being tested on the course here.

The wind has delivered every day of the event so far, so hopefully conditions will hold through the remainder of the event, which lasts until Saturday. The 2010 North American Course Racing Championships are part of the larger Regatta Copa Mexico, which has drawn thousands of sailors, windusrfers, and kiteboarders to this area north of Puerto Vallarta.  For more information on the event, you can check out https://www.regatacopamexico.com and https://www.kitemexico.org

Tomorrow afternoon, two course races are planned, followed by the beginning of the freestyle competition. The freestyle event features a lot of local riders, especially young riders from the area. Keep your eye on thekiteboarder.com for more updates and final race results as soon as they are available.
