According to our testers, the T5 was well-behaved and never did anything unexpected.
Right out of the bag, the first thing we noticed about the Rebel was the attention to detail on the kite.
We just got our hands on this quick video clip showing the 2011 GK kiteboarding quick release. It’s been made easier to put back together, which is what a lot of riders were asking for
When we first started flying the Charger, we were surprised by how well it flew in light wind. It never hinted towards stalling, and even in light wind it turned with ease.
Unhooked, the Trix performs very well and it never has the tendency to back-stall. In the waves, the Trix feels nimble and responsive, and has great downwind drift.
Placed anywhere along the edge of the window, the Kahoona required minimal attention to fly and showed no signs of stalling.
The Boss never seems to distort or flutter and is an amazingly smooth-feeling kite.
The LF Kite Fish is very easily driven and takes hardly any power to get up and going. Once on a plane, it became immediately clear that this board is very loose.
The Momentum gets up on a plane quickly and seems to hold its speed really well through gusts and lulls. The good amount of flex through the board really smooths out the chop.
The Scud is a skim board, and it rides like one. Even with the center fin, the Scud is loose. If you try to ride this board like you would ride a twin tip or surfboard, be prepared to slide around all over the place.
We wanted to complement the existing Hydra by offering a brand-new design dedicated to wave riding and freestyle.
The Arcane differs due to its shape, volume, concave characteristics and fin configurations. The combination of features such as its single to double concave, concave deck, and down-rail with wing swallow make it very different than our other boards.
2010 Caution Kites: Zombie and Mayhem X demo day at Pismo Beach. Waves were big and wind was 16 to 18mph.
All our boards are handmade here in the Outer Banks. We use traditional construction along with reinforcements in key areas. All my boards are designed, shaped, and glassed entirely in-house. Most brands don’t offer that.
Ben Wilson was in the shaping room when Slingshot made it and ended up liking it so much he took it home with him. He said it changed his life. He then convinced Slingshot to develop a full line of Celeritas boards.
For 2010, Balance focused on further refining the construction of their boards to extract the last ounce of possible performance. Designer Carlos Saez is utterly confident that they have the highest parts specification and construction found anywhere in the kitesurf market.
We wanted to give one of the best SLE kites ever built a major face lift. We envisioned the high demand in 2010 for a no-center-strut design, so we redesigned the Havoc on a 4-strut structure, giving room for a much deeper and more powerful profile in the center of the kite where it’s really needed.
