The Kiteboarder Magazine

Los Barriles, Baja Mexico, was once again the host for the annual Lord of the Wind Showdown and conditions did not disappoint. Now in it's 3rd year, this year's event was held from January 10-15, 2013 with wind averaging 22-28 knots daily.

The Kiteboarder Magazine sat down with some of the world's top kiteboarding course racers and designers to talk to them about the direction of course racing and what it means for the sport of kiteboarding.

Within the event the inaugural Kite Cross World Championship was held. While there were run-away leaders in some classes, including double Olympic Tornado medallist Mitch Booth in the F18 catamaran, the closest finish across the whole competition was in the men’s kiteboarding competition.

When he mentioned that he usually goes back out after lunch, but was lunchless, I pulled out a bag of Curly's Jerky (never leave home without it) and was proud that Curly's Jerky could power an afternoon of high-flying, kiteboarding action.
