OK, so today was THE DAY! My first Ocean Kiting experience! I have been waiting for this day for what feels like an eternity! I went to a spot on the north coast of Puerto Rico called Montones. It's a cove that has a huge rock on one side where sets of waves wrap around and break. The beach is beautiful and there is a mix of sand and reef bottom. The water gets shallow in spots but mostly its pretty deep. Luckily, it's sandy by the shore so its easy to get in and out of the water.

Gathering from 20 countries, an exclusive field of some of the world’s best kite surfers traveled the world to compete for the World Championship title. The battle took 24 men and 12 women to each of the three tour stops: the One Eye Pro in Le Morne, Mauritius; the Pacasmayo Kite Surf Pro in Pacasmayo, Peru; and finally, the Ponta Preta Kite Surf Pro in Santa Maria, Sal Island, Cape Verde.

KSP World Tour Crowns its First World Champions

KSP Cabo Verde Day 5: Event Shortened with No Swell on the Way

Less than promising, the wave forecast projects no swell for the final five days of the Ponta Preta Kite Surf Pro’s 10-day holding period. Given the dismal forecast, KSP organizers and the rider’s committee made a joint decision to move the awards ceremony forward to Wednesday, December 7.
