The 2011 Pismo Beach KiteXpo ended on a high note as the predicted wind showed up at the event site today. Despite a gloomy and windless morning, the wind filled in around 1 pm and riders were able to hit the water on 9-12m kites.
Yet another excellent raffle happened today just before the wind arrived and today’s top prizes included a Flexifoil board, Nobile board, and an Epic kite. As the wind suddenly became strong enough to ride, many participants scrambled to ride as many new 2011 kites and boards as possible.
The 2011 Pismo Beach KiteXpo was a fundraiser for event founder Kinsley ThomasWong and well over $10,000 was raised over the three days of the event. Kinsley was able to come down to the event each day to talk to his many friends who had turned out to show their support.
We would like to send a huge thank you to all the bands who participated in the 2011 Pismo Beach KiteXpo for helping us to make this such a wonderful event! Of course, the largest thanks goes out to the participants who made their way to Pismo Beach to join us!
