On the final day of the La Ventana Windfest, spectators were treated to a fun filled day of Big Air and Freestyle competition. The riders were full of energy as they could see an army of whitecaps on the horizon inviting them to perform for the days upcoming heats.

In the finals of the Big Air,  Cosmonm “Guacamole” Noonan was going for broke, boosting some huge airs and at one point going so far as butt checking a crash landing on the beach. Not to be out done, Marty Dovick, launched some of the highest airs of the event, drawing crowd pleasing cheers from spectators. Layne Mullard demonstrated textbook massive airs when he bolted strait up into the air in the final seconds to take home the win.

For the finals of the Big Air Nationals Category, Juan Pablo pushed his kite to the limits by using every bit of skill and strength to boost his biggest airs landing him in third place. Diego Tron muscled his way from the start of the heat, milking every puff in the fading wind. With pure determination, he forced every ounce of energy into going vert to gain a second place finish. Sofia Jimenez stayed calm throughout the entire heat and consistently found the best pockets of wind. Using that knowledge to her advantage, she effortlessly sent her kite higher and higher on every jump to help her secure the win.

The Freestyle heats started with plenty of wind but towards the finals the wind tapered off, but those kiters that saw the wind slightly fading opted for slightly bigger kites and managed to throw down some technical moves with plenty of power. Luis Diego Geraldo Chavez stuck to his game plan, methodically landing his technical tricks one by one and that plan payed off with a podium finish. DJ Cosmonm “Guacamole” Noonan was on point with solid maneuvers that he consistently landed cleanly, thus securing himself a second place finish. Bille Kipling fresh from competing at The Lord of the Wind event the prior week, was locked into competition mode. That helped him stay on track, as he worked his way throughout the heat with consistent stylish and fluid tricks to clinch his first place win.
