Participants during the Red Bull Battle of the sund in Malmö, Sweden on 16 august of 2014.

Red Bull Battle of the Sund brought 250 kiteboarders from 16 different nations together on August 16, 2014 to rewrite the history of a great naval battle that took place on November 8th in 1658. The kiters started from the Swedish city of Malmo, crossing the ‘sund’ over to Denmark, and returning to Sweden in just one day. The course was set up to be 40km, but the conditions with straight westerly winds and 15-25 kts made it a tough upwind battle. Only 30 riders managed to finish the complete round, amongst them only 2 girls.
