Canadian organizers are gearing up for yet another year of kiteboarding competition on Vancouver Island’s iconic kite destination, Nitinat Lake. Known for its strong, consistent wind and flat water, this year’s Nitinat Lake Windfest is scheduled to take place on July 26 and 27, 2014.
Nitnat Windfest is more than a great kite party amidst giant trees and friendly camping vibes. This year it will also play host to the 2014 Canadian Kite Racing National Championships featuring Formula, Foil and Twin Tip classes. Twin Tip racing will be slalom format and open to all abilities, and ages.
Of course, there will also be plenty of customary big air and strapless competition. All proceeds from the event support the Ditidaht Youth Fund.
Registration is now open. For further details and information, visit www.windfest.ca
