The PKRA announced important changes and additions to the 2014 season calendar this week, including a switch of dates for the event in Brazil and the addition of exciting new stops such as Spain, China, and Argentina.  Almost half way through the 2014 tour season, the action continues to unfold in these new and seasoned venues around the world.

First up, the dates for the Barra Grande Kitesurf World Cup in Brazil has been moved from October to September 17 – 21. The location in northern Brazil is sure to deliver the classic strong steady freestyle conditions and warm water that make the area such a prime destination for kiteboarding.

Next is the announcement of three new stops. Tarifa, Spain, will play host to the Tarifa Kiteboarding World Cup Aug 30 Sept 7 and will feature big air as the second discipline to freestyle and will be held at the new Best Kiteboarding Pro Center at Playa Los Lances. Known as the European mecca of kiteboarding, Tarifa is one of the most famous kite beaches in the world and the crowds, the action, and the parties are sure to be second to none.

Making for two back-to-back events in China again this year, the Pingtan Kiteboarding World Cup returns for the second year in a row October 25 29 in Pingtan, China.  After an incredible event last year with huge kickers and flat water in-between, riders are already amped for another shot at exciting conditions for both freestyle and slalom.

Lastly, closing out the season will be the Argentina Kitesurf World Cup in Embalse Cuesta del Viento, San Juan, Argentina, December 9-14. This stop will feature freestyle and slalom. Located high in Andes Mountains, the lunar landscape of the area and strong thermal wind is an appropriate finale for the 2014 tour season where the world champions will be crowned.
