From Tkb Staff:

This isn’t the first waterproof music player/headphone combo to land on our desk, but the audio quality and ease of use puts this at the top of the must-have list for those that want to enhance their sessions with music. The first thing we noticed about this setup was the clarity of the audio quality that comes out of the waterproof ear buds. We’ve tested a very similar product from another company and it was obvious from the first use that the crisp tone and impressive base produced by these ear buds is superior to the other products we have tested.

A frequent comment on this type of waterproofing is that the controls are a bit stiff due to the process of injecting a sealant into the unit. Our iPod was a little stiff at first use, but this resistance decreased over time. Realistically, the button action doesn’t interfere with adjusting volume or skipping tracks while on the water, it’s more likely something that first-time users will want to be aware of because the resistance is different than a normal non-waterproof iPod.

The length of the headphone’s wire is perfect for hanging the iPod around your neck. It’s just long enough to allow for free movement of your head and neck, but not so long that it can tangle or be difficult to manage. The headphones come with different sizes and 2 styles of ear buds that ensure you will find an option that stays in your ear during casual riding and most wipeouts. We took some fairly long swims with the unit without problems and judging from photos on the internet of this iPod submerged in a glass of water, the waterproof technology is something you don’t have to worry about.

Underwater Audio

Here’s a couple things you might consider when using the Underwater Audio iPod. We took some kite line and created an adjustable neckloop with two sliding Fisherman knots (How to:Fisherman’s Knot) so you can fit the necklace over your head and then cinch it tighter. We tucked the unit inside the neck of our wetsuit and having the unit closer to the neck made it easier to pull it out to skip a track or adjust the volume. We’ve heard some people have put a dab of super glue to keep their chosen ear buds secured to the speakers, yet we never had an issue with the buds coming off.
