CRAZYFLY CRUISER 2014 LIGHTWIND REVIEW

CRAZYFLY Cruiser LW
Sizes Available: 154, 160cm
Sizes Tested: 154×44, 160x44cm

CrazyFly Says:

The Cruiser LW is the ultimate light wind machine. The name sums it up perfectly: Cruising around, having fun and enjoying the ride even in the lightest winds. But of course, this board can handle a lot more than that… Due to its unique core construction and extremely light layers of carbon, the Cruiser LW can also be ridden aggressively. The balanced medium flex of this board suits intermediate and advanced riders, it rides comfortably in choppy waters and the flat rocker and narrower tips ensure that it is an incredible light wind board.

Our Testers Say:

“Nice board, planes up early. For a big rider like myself, I would chose the 160cm, it has tons of low end and turns the same as the 150cm,” Marko Bartscherer.

“Excellent board, with the perfect amount of flex for pop and tracking in light wind.” Jeff Quick.

“This board goes upwind extremely well, it’s very comfortable and an excellent light wind board,” Greg Vasilieff.

TKB Says:

The 2014 CrazyFly Cruiser LW features a lightweight all-wood core, ABS rails, asymmetrical fin position, carbon reinforcement and a flat bottom shape. The most unique feature of the Cruiser LW is the reverse template which cuts through the water cleanly and efficiently. The Cruiser LW earned high marks as a dedicated light wind twin tip. Testers commented on its excellent early planing, easy upwind ability and ease of use in choppy conditions. Testers liked the board’s load and pop for simple jumps and transitions, yet like many light wind boards, its length and design proves bulky for aggressive freestyle riding.

The Cruiser LW comes with Dura footpads and Quick Fix II footstraps which are simple and easy to install with a single Velcro adjustment for sizing the straps. Testers liked the plushness of the pads and the pronounced toe ridge for extra grip and overall found the pad/straps setup very comfortable.
