Airush introduces the Apex in a new configuration, combining higher rocker, increased width and the new Venturi Concave. The unique concave stabilizes the board at faster speeds and enables the fin area to sit deeper in the water, allowing the rider to use smaller fins for the same level of grip.
The construction features a key innovation in the form of the Asymmetrical 3D Shape. This precision CNC shape enhances the performance of the independent flex tips and Carbon Torsion Control, by aligning the response of the board with the riders weight orientation towards the heel edge. The AFT Team foot pad features D30, a unique shock absorbing material placed directly below the heel of the foot. This allows for maximum comfort and support during hard landings whether you are learning the latest freestyle moves or landing fast after a kiteloop!
The Apex’s performance suits intermediate to advanced aggressive riders, while remaining easy and comfortable to use at faster speeds.

The 2014 Airush Apex features an asymmetrical step design to create stiffer flex along the heel side edge, full length concave bottom which narrows towards the tips, and 3 holes for adjusting stance width and a fair amount of rotation for adjusting duck. With overall medium weight, testers reported excellent upwind performance, good flex pattern for building impressive pop with harder landings. The Apex comes with smaller fins which made it feel very loose but lively, yet the combination of extra back foot pressure and the concavity allows the board to track upwind well. Testers recommended the Apex as an excellent cross between a freeride and aggressive freestyle board.
Our test boards were shipped with the AFT Team straps and pads. The straps are easily bolted to the pad for quick install and offer a fair amount of adjustment options for duck. The unique D30 pad material is a higher density, but earned solid praise because the thinner pad puts the rider’s heel close to the deck for precise control and connection to the board. The straps feature dual Velcro adjustment for front and back strap tension with good contour feel and support.
